These Guidelines explain the standards that protect respectful, trustworthy and safe learning interactions on VergEra.
Purpose of These Guidelines
VergEra is a learning, communication and community platform that connects users through Learning Identity profiles, Discover, Tie-Up relationships, chats, communities, learning resources, Practice Boards, Live Classrooms, ratings and reputation features.
These Community Guidelines explain the behaviour and content standards that apply whenever you access or use VergEra.
These Guidelines are intended to help maintain a respectful, trustworthy and safe environment for Mentors, Scholars and other members of the VergEra community.
These Guidelines apply together with the VergEra Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and other applicable platform policies.
Respect Other Users
Users must communicate and interact respectfully with Mentors, Scholars, community members and other VergEra users.
The following behaviour is prohibited:
- Bullying, harassment, stalking or intimidation
- Threats of violence or physical harm
- Repeated unwanted communication
- Targeted humiliation or degradation
- Discriminatory or hateful attacks
- Humiliation based on learning ability, academic performance, qualifications or experience
- Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual communication
- Encouraging others to target, threaten or abuse a user
- Retaliation against a person for submitting a report
Be Authentic
Users should accurately represent their identity, experience, teaching ability, learning interests and qualifications.
You must not:
- Impersonate another person, institution or organisation
- Create accounts intended to deceive or manipulate users
- Use another person's identity without authority
- Claim qualifications or experience you do not possess
- Falsely claim to represent VergEra
- Create fake reviews or coordinated ratings
- Manipulate Mentor, Scholar or Community reputation
- Misrepresent an unofficial community as an official VergEra Community
Protect User Safety
VergEra must not be used to exploit, threaten, endanger, deceive, coerce or manipulate another person.
Prohibited activity includes:
- Sharing another person's private information without permission
- Attempting to obtain passwords or verification codes
- Account theft or unauthorised account access
- Financial scams or fraudulent payment requests
- Blackmail, coercion or threats
- Encouraging dangerous or unlawful behaviour
- Sharing phishing links, malware or unsafe files
- Attempting to bypass account or platform security
- Misusing another person's images, videos or identity
- Pressuring users to provide unnecessary sensitive personal information
Child and Young-User Safety
VergEra has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, grooming or endangerment of children or young users.
Users must never:
- Sexually exploit or sexualise a child
- Request sexual or inappropriate content from a child
- Engage in grooming or exploitative communication
- Share or request child sexual abuse material
- Encourage a child to hide unsafe, sexual or exploitative communication
- Threaten or blackmail a child
- Arrange unsafe or exploitative meetings with children
- Publish a child's private information without lawful authority
- Encourage or facilitate sexual, abusive or exploitative contact involving a child
Content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is prohibited regardless of whether it is real, attempted, requested, distributed or facilitated through VergEra.
Serious child-safety concerns may result in immediate restriction or termination of accounts, preservation of relevant information and reporting to appropriate authorities or child-safety organisations where required by applicable law.
Users should report suspected child-safety violations immediately using available reporting tools or by contacting VergEra Support.
Sexual and Exploitative Content
VergEra is a learning platform and must not be used to distribute sexually exploitative or inappropriate sexual content.
Prohibited content includes:
- Sexual exploitation or coercion
- Non-consensual intimate content
- Sexual harassment
- Sexual content involving children
- Requests for sexual material from minors
- Content intended primarily to facilitate sexual exploitation or abuse
Violence and Threats
Users must not use VergEra to threaten, encourage or coordinate serious violence.
Prohibited behaviour includes:
- Credible threats of physical harm
- Encouraging violence against another person
- Celebrating or glorifying serious acts of violence
- Sharing graphic violent material primarily intended to shock, threaten or intimidate
- Using VergEra to organise or facilitate serious violent activity
Hateful Conduct
VergEra does not permit attacks, threats or dehumanising content directed at individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
Educational discussion of discrimination, history, law or social issues may be permitted when presented in an appropriate learning context and not used to promote hatred or abuse.
Illegal and Dangerous Content
Users must not publish, request, distribute or facilitate unlawful or seriously dangerous content through VergEra.
This includes:
- Content facilitating serious criminal or exploitative activity
- Content promoting terrorism or violent extremism
- Trafficking or exploitation of persons
- Fraudulent schemes or scams
- Malware, phishing links or malicious software
- Stolen personal information or credentials
- Other content prohibited by applicable law
Privacy and Personal Information
Users must respect the privacy and personal information of other people.
You must not:
- Publish another person's private information without permission
- Share passwords or authentication credentials
- Expose another person's private communications maliciously
- Publish sensitive identifying information for harassment or intimidation
- Record or distribute private classroom activity without required permission
Users should also avoid posting their own passwords, verification codes, financial credentials, government identifiers or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Fraud, Scams and Deception
VergEra must not be used to deceive users for money, credentials, personal information or other benefits.
Prohibited behaviour includes:
- Fraudulent payment requests
- Phishing
- Fake scholarship or employment schemes
- Fake admission or examination offers
- False certification schemes
- Identity theft
- Account-selling scams
- Misleading links or attachments
Spam and Unwanted Promotion
Users must not misuse VergEra for spam or repetitive unwanted promotional communication.
This includes:
- Repeated unsolicited messages
- Mass promotional messaging
- Misleading advertisements
- Deceptive links
- Automated account or messaging abuse
- Repeatedly posting irrelevant promotional content in communities
Prohibited Content
Content may be removed or restricted when it violates these Guidelines, the Terms and Conditions, applicable law or user-safety requirements.
Examples include:
- Illegal content
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation material
- Sexually exploitative content
- Hateful or threatening content
- Dangerous or violent content
- Scams and deceptive promotions
- Malware, phishing links or harmful software
- Private information shared without permission
- Copyright-infringing material
- Content intended primarily to harass another user
Intellectual Property
Users must respect copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual-property rights.
Do not upload or distribute books, notes, videos, presentations, examination materials, photographs, software or other protected material unless you own the material, have permission or otherwise have a lawful right to use it.
VergEra may restrict or remove material that appears to violate intellectual-property rights.
Learning and Examination Integrity
VergEra is intended to support genuine learning, teaching and knowledge sharing.
Users must not use VergEra to:
- Leak confidential examination questions
- Arrange impersonation during an examination
- Complete dishonest assessments for another person
- Sell forged certificates or qualifications
- Misrepresent copied work as original work
- Facilitate examination malpractice
- Encourage academic fraud
Educational discussion of previous examinations, publicly available questions and legitimate learning resources is permitted when used lawfully.
Community Standards
VergEra may provide official VergEra Communities and user-created communities.
Official VergEra Communities
Official VergEra Communities are created and controlled by VergEra. Users must not impersonate VergEra administrators or attempt unauthorised modification of official communities.
User-created communities
Community owners and authorised moderators should manage their communities responsibly, consistently and fairly.
Community administrators should:
- Apply reasonable community rules
- Respond appropriately to safety concerns
- Remove harmful or seriously irrelevant content
- Protect member privacy
- Avoid abusing moderator permissions
- Follow VergEra Community Guidelines
Community ownership or moderation does not permit a user to bypass VergEra policies.
VergEra may restrict, archive, suspend or remove communities that violate platform rules or create serious user-safety risks.
Messages and Group Discussions
Personal chats, group chats and community communication must remain respectful and lawful.
Users must not:
- Send repeated unwanted messages
- Send threatening or abusive messages
- Add users to inappropriate conversations
- Send fraudulent links or unsafe attachments
- Pressure users to share private contact information
- Use messaging for harassment or manipulation
- Send sexually exploitative messages
- Attempt to obtain passwords, OTPs or authentication information
Learning Resources and File Sharing
Users may share notes, documents, images, videos and other learning resources through supported VergEra features.
Users must not upload:
- Malware or malicious files
- Illegal content
- Content containing stolen credentials
- Unauthorised copyrighted material
- Sexually exploitative material
- Files primarily intended to threaten, deceive or harm another user
Practice Board and Live Classroom Conduct
Mentors and Scholars must participate respectfully during Practice Board and Live Classroom activities.
Users must not:
- Intentionally disrupt a classroom
- Use threatening, abusive or inappropriate language
- Share unlawful materials
- Share unauthorised copyrighted materials
- Record or distribute sessions without required permission
- Misuse microphone, chat, poll or board permissions
- Attempt to access a classroom without authorisation
- Harass participants during a learning session
Mentors should manage speaking, board and participant permissions responsibly.
Users who receive additional classroom permissions remain subject to these Guidelines.
Ratings, Reviews and Reputation
Ratings and reviews should reflect genuine learning or community experiences.
Users must not:
- Create fake reviews
- Use fake accounts to manipulate ratings
- Threaten users for favourable ratings
- Offer improper benefits in exchange for ratings
- Post retaliatory reviews unrelated to the experience
- Coordinate rating manipulation
- Include unnecessary private information or abusive material in reviews
VergEra may remove fraudulent or abusive ratings and may correct reputation information affected by technical errors or deliberate manipulation.
Reporting Violations
Users should report harmful users, messages, communities, resources, reviews or classroom activity using VergEra's available reporting controls.
Serious safety, privacy or moderation concerns may also be reported directly to VergEra Support:
Reports should contain accurate information and should be made in good faith.
Deliberately false, malicious or abusive reporting may itself violate these Guidelines.
Blocking Users
Where blocking functionality is available, users may block another account to restrict supported interactions with that account.
Blocking a user does not prevent VergEra from reviewing relevant reports or taking moderation action where necessary.
Users should also report serious misconduct rather than relying only on blocking where another user may present a safety risk.
Moderator and Administrator Responsibilities
Users who receive community moderation or other administrative permissions must use those permissions responsibly.
Moderators must not:
- Use their permissions to harass members
- Manipulate ratings or reputation
- Access information without a legitimate platform purpose
- Retaliate against users for legitimate reports
- Misrepresent themselves as VergEra employees
- Use moderation permissions for fraud or personal benefit
VergEra may remove moderator or administrative permissions where misuse is identified.
Enforcement
VergEra may investigate accounts, content or behaviour that appears to violate these Guidelines, the Terms and Conditions, safety requirements or applicable law.
Possible actions may include:
- Warning the user
- Removing or restricting content
- Limiting chat functionality
- Limiting community access
- Limiting classroom participation
- Removing verification status
- Removing moderator or administrator permissions
- Restricting or removing a community
- Temporarily suspending an account
- Permanently terminating an account
- Preserving information related to serious misconduct
- Reporting illegal or dangerous activity where required by applicable law
Enforcement decisions may consider the severity of the conduct, context, user safety, previous violations, repeated behaviour and applicable legal requirements.
Urgent Safety Situations
VergEra Support is not an emergency-response service.
Where a person faces an immediate threat of physical harm or another emergency, users should contact the appropriate local emergency service or authority.
Platform-related evidence or safety concerns may also be reported to VergEra for review.
Changes to These Guidelines
VergEra may update these Community Guidelines as platform features, safety requirements, legal obligations or moderation practices change.
Updated Guidelines will display a revised "Last updated" date.
Significant changes may also be communicated through the application, website, email or another appropriate method.
